How to Host a "Make a Blanket" Party

The blankets you will be making will be for kids who need a hug.

Supply List

  • Blizzard or anti-pill fleece
  • Notions

Prior To Your Event

  • If your event will involve young children, consider trimming the selvgages, cutting the fringe and poking holes in advance
  • Print out the instructions on the website   www.projectlinus.org  for those who will be making the blankets
  • Set up work stations at the event: A stack for non-completed blankets, a stack for completed-blankets
  • If food will be served, designate a special are away from the blankets so that food or liquids does not get on the blankets

During Your Community Day

  • Consider posting photos on your organization’s social media accounts in accordance with your group’s policies and tagging Project Linus
  • Near the end of the event, begin prepping your blankets for delivery.

Following Your Community Day

  • Deliver the completed blankets to Project Linus
  • Provide feedbackback to our chapter on the overall success of your event
